Is this really an MY11 L322?

Just started lurking after a few years away.

I have been keeping an eye out for a late model MY11 or MY12 L322. I previously had an MY 12 D4 and after driving a friends early L322, I'm hooked.

Question: I thought the MY 10-12 L322's all had the 8 speed and the accompanying rotary gear selector. Is that right? The one below is being advertised as a 2011 but has the older 6 speed. Am I missing something?

The 8-speed was only fitted for the 4.4L TDV8 (MY11-12), not the MY10 3.6 TDV8 nor the 5.0 petrol V8 NA or SC.
    MY12 RRV 4.4 TDV8 AB, +LLAMS, +e-diff, +ACC stop/go. Produce LLAMS for LR/RR, Jeep GC/Dodge Ram

    I have a 2010 D4 3L and a 2008 TDV8 3.6 L322

The L322 is a far better car to drive.

    But.....

I will be selling both and buying a new P400 110 Defender.

That is also a very nice choice! Unfortunately I'm a "pay cash" person and would have trouble getting that amount through my own tight fist- let alone the finance committee

I loved my D4 so Im sure when I do find myself a nice L322 I'll be very happy with it.

Some people don't like the firmness of the CVDs on the last L322s after having been accustomed to the softness of earlier L322s so perhaps you should drive a couple to see if the vehicle is for you. I moved from a D4 to a late L322 to get the CVDs for their improved ride compared with conventional shocks even though I had fitted D3 ARBs to the D4 to soften its ride. It's unfortunate that the CVDs are so expensive as they wear out like conventional shocks but I would be very reluctant to return to conventional shocks on a large vehicle as I find the CVDs really good.

Interesting. I am just reading up about CVD's on the late L322's. Some in the UK have swapped them out for earlier L322 dampers without CVD, which also involves mucking about with an IID tools and editing the CCF files. I'm not sure I am keen on that.

Given how many K's I do these days (not many), I'm not too worried about the cost of the dampers as they would be infrequently replaced. But good tip regarding the comfort. It's always good to compare.
