Knares, I’m interested to learn more. I have a set of electric brakes I was given and which I’m thinking of fitting to my trailer.
I also have a Tekonsha brake controller I was also given.
And I have an M62 L322 like you.
I’d like to watch the video you mentioned:

I believe the plug they are talking about is this or one similar:

Supposedly allows for plug and play of controllers. You should be able to find a connector in the the area up in behind the brake peddle.
I managed to find a video for the L322 by the very chatty shedlock:

That video is of a NAS L322 which has different wiring to RHD L322s.

Had a Redarc variable controller installed by a "professional" on my L322.
In my case, because the trailer requires full power through the axillary to run the trailer brakes (Electric over hydraulic) needs to be wired as per Redarc diagram for such installation.
Remote mechanic who swore he was an auto sparkie and knew what he was doing.
They had about 3 goes before the had trailer brakes working as required, and that was after suggesting they bridge direct power from the Anderson plug to auxiliary pin on tow plug.
Seemed to work fine for the couple of times I towed.
Then one day, dash full of lights, nothing works and car transported to my usual LR workshop 3300 k's away.
Took them about 3 weeks to work out what was wrong apart from failed ignition module, failed lighting module, BCM needing repair and the towing controller needing to be wired in correctly.
The sparkie from the workshop reckoned that the actual install of the brake controller was the initial problem, with regard to where they had connected it in the dash.
Cost many $1000's to sort, so cannot emphasise enough to make sure you use tradies who do "know" Land Rovers when getting controllers installed.
vbrab thanks, that's why i am i bit iffy on doing it
i have done it on other vehicles
i did contact a rover jag specialist, not a dealer, and the lece said he couldn't remember the rear wiring as the vehicle is pretty old
i have to have it done so i can tow my caravan
