If you just remove the lpastic cover you should be able to see the brand. You can on a D4.
If it's an AMK it's not worth fixing to be honest.
Was about to order an air suspension compressor repair kit, thought it was a Wabco but island 4x4 in the UK say it’s an AMK, does anyone know this for sure, am going to take cover off tomorrow but I think the model number is underneath and I don’t want to dismantle it too much.

I gather the kits for these aren’t much good, there’s nothing wrong with mine at the moment I just wanted to do some preventative maintenance/ service on the compressor as we have a big trip planned soon with the caravan 10,000 klms over to Perth and back
My local indie told me the same about the AMK repair kit, saying that he wouldn't do them because the failure rate was too high. I went ahead and ordered one anyway from the UK. let me tell you, I can now pull out the compressor in about 5 minutes and replace it in nearly the same. I must have pulled it out at least 6 times. I ended up buying a new compressor from my Indie and fitted it.
No problems since.

Well it’s definitely an AMK, I just enquired with my local LR dealer for price on replacement, can a Wabco be used instead does anyone know, from the UK it’s around $950, it’s 12 yrs old date on sticker 03/06/2011 we aim to keep the car for a while travelling with our caravan, I know I’m going to have a problem with it in the next few years and I’d rather fit a new one now than get stuck somewhere, delivery from UK is sometimes quicker than local in Oz so I could just sit in the van for 5-6 days 😂😂 and wait

The air intake for the L322 compressor is very much inside the vehicle, unlike that of the D3/D4 which whilst officially inside, is from an area behind the left taillight cluster into which dust gets. Furthermore the D3/D4 filter allows dust to bypass the sponge which very quickly causes the demise of the compressor.
The compressors don't fail abruptly, initially triggering slow to raise and waiting for the compressor to cool messages then progressing to normal height only faults long before they fail totally.
Mine's compressor has done 170K with over 150K of that in dusty conditions and it isn't showing any signs of wearing out. It won't be replaced until it needs to be.

Thanks Graeme, I read on the full fat site that a lot of guys were drilling a small hole in the Gold filter, one suggestion was soaking it in petrol and blowing out with an air gun, it improved the lift speed, in other words the filter gets blocked and makes the compressor work harder

That's the exhaust port noise reducing filter which gets blocked, not the inlet filter. When partly blocked it causes the suspenison to lower more slowly than it should and if blocked it will prevent the suspension from lowering at all. It has nothing to do with raising.
