    4.4 SDV8 EGR Blanking plates

    Hi all,

    Anyone know if 4.4 SDV8 EGR Blanking plates are the same as the V6?

    Isnt that interesting... I was informed you "cant" bypass the egr on a 4.4
    "How long since you've visited The Good Oil?"

    It can be done on the PCM and then physical

    Contact Graeme on here , If I remember correctly, you could experience the possibility of a run-away engine if EGR Blanked ! He did a write up about the 4.4 TdV8 EGR a couple of years ago.

    I installed a home-grown module that shuts the EGR butterfly for 15 seconds when the ignition is switched off as a way to stifle the engine if the primary turbo decides to pump oil into the inlet tract.
    My EGR valve operation has been disabled in the PCM and I intend fitting a blanking plate in case the valve stops sealing.

    Edit: The car played at being a mountain goat today amongst real goats slowly climbing a steep, rough track with the engine very happily operating from 1000 rpm to around 1800 rpm on light throttle with no hint of misbehaviour.
