Replacing ignition barrel
Hey first time poster here. I was recently locked out of my car and my old man ended up smashing my passenger window to get in, which led to glass falling directly into my ignition barrel and rendering it broken.
The key will communicate with the immobiliser but will not turn at all.
I ended up pulling the switch out of the barrel and starting it from the switch whilst the key was in the barrel to move it which was handy but I am now wondering if there is any programming involved if I replace the barrel + immobiliser or if i am able to swap my original immobiliser onto the new barrel.
If anyone has any guides on to how to disassemble the barrel it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If you've got the barrel out, a locksmith should be able to remove any glass.
Handy hint, the cheapest glass in most cars is the windscreen and it's covered by insurance.
RACQ/V, NRMA at all can get into almost every car, without damage.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
