I have one of the plugs with pigtails around here somewhere and I have the pin-outs for the socket. When I find them I'll cross-check to colours/pins. The 12V supply uses a 4mm2 wire so will carry all the current the brakes could possibly require.

    The adaptor plug:
    black - battery power
    red - trigger/sense (brake switch)
blue - trailer brakes (from controller)
    white - earth

I'm unsure if this is what you ended-up with.

    Is the knob fully anti-clockwise?
Did pressing the knob to use user-controlled mode release the brakes?

Perhaps you need to reset calibration mode to get it to start again.

    Thanks Graeme

had the multi meter out and am getting all sorts of fun readings. It appears the blue wire will give power and the black one brakes according to the multimeter. I’ll hook it all up and go for a spin.

    Yay

Ok. Seem to have it sorted. Put blue wire to power and black wire to brakes. Test drive has trailer brakes at least. So I’m legal. Guess wiring somewhere along the line (factory, prior user?) got mismatched. Happy enough for now. Thanks for your help everyone. Loving this car!

Does anyone know where the fuse is on the D5, that runs the constant 12 volts to the pre-wired loom for the trailer brakes? (The plug above the brake pedal).

    Thank you.

Answered in the other thread that you posted - D5 passenger compartment FL8 is the 30A fusible link.
