    Winch kit from UK

A FullFatRR member has had one engineered and fitted and is offering them for sale. Only issue I see is airflow you radiators.

Between the winch and the two! light bars there’s no radiator exposure left at all. Winch mount does look good though.

Agree. That vehicle would cook over here!

Winch mount looks very heavy. And needs to deal with air flow better.

That car must drive around in ice and snow all the time. It would be impossible to cool in Australia with almost no airflow to the radiators. You would have to give away the Bushtracker if you did that, Chris. Even the winch blocks one of the major sources of cooling air and the light bars block the rest. It also looks like he has removed the louvres covering the upper section of the radiators, not that it would need them because it can't get any air flow to the radiators anyway.

I’d seriously question the term “had one engineered”.

If any Engineer that works for me designed something like that - I’d replace them!

And it’s certainly not compliant with ADRs or Airbags!

I thought the side gills would allow plenty of airflow through engine bay, certainly enough for cooling. I certainly feel warm air flowing out of my L322 gills.

Yes... and how does that flow get into said engine bay?

It’s gets in through the grill and bumper openings, passing through the critically important radiator, condenser, and in many vehicles the intercooler and transmission cooler (on this vehicle they are side mounted). Then it exhausts both out the gills and the bottom of the transmission tunnel.

Without the intake flow the air will be being pulled up from below (convection) and not through the cooling system.

The L405 & L322 has 3 radiators across the front. All three go back to a single reservoir. The middle is in behind the condenser and inter cooler. If I am on a soft beach at low speed (no air flow) the e-fan (for middle stack) is starting to work hard.

While the light bars are not ideal, is it going to be much different with this?
