I wonder if LR marketing we happy that they put after market Compos on their off-road capable new disco for their “LR supported” expedition... ? Or did LR say “yep put em on, our bigger wheel and tyre combos aren’t really designed for that..”

Nice Front Runner roof rack fitted too.

Kingsley Holgate Foundation - Home | Facebook

"Discovery, fitted with a rear-mounted winch, Front Runner roof-rack, 18-inch rims and tough Cooper Tyres. Sheelagh and I follow in another.
It’s the first time these state of the art vehicles are tackling such a tough expedition route, and the motoring world - I’m sure - are standing by to find out if they are ‘boulevard cruisers’ or as tough or better than their Disco 4 predecessors, which we used with such great success. Will keep you posted."Disco 5.jpg

I wonder if they were running the smaller brakes off the td4... hence the ability to fit the 18’s...

I thought they fitted the new D5's, its only the new shape Range Rovers with the bigger brakes that didn't fit ?

do you reckon the tyre puncture count has been redacted??

you reckon the organisers would pick saving a few bucks over getting out of rifle range?

The brakes are either identical or very close to identical the D4 3.0L brakes. The wheels on these expedition vehicles are the aftermarket Compomotive 18's that fit the larger brake package. I have not seen anything official that confirms smaller brakes and/or factory 18's fitting the td4 version.
