i think it might be a new add on to this because I can confirm that my foot is firmly on the brake pedal and my seatbelt is still on. So it’s not as stated in the manual.

I remember reading an article about people being killed by their cars because they forget to turn them off in the garage.

    https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.techtimes.com/amp/articles/227751/20180515/keyless-cars-are-killing-people-due-to-carbon-monoxide-

So maybe this is to address that problem.

I’ll try and remember to do it with one of the kids in the car and film the behaviour..

If you had to move it 30cm to get the car to turn off then I doubt that it is anything to do with the car knowing where it is. I didn't think GPS in a car was that accurate.

Ron the 30cm movement was just one occassion. It's not like I have to do that to make it happen.

Other times I just pull in to the driveway and it shuts off.

I reckon it’s the stop/start function kicking in, mine does the same when I come home at night too, ( by pushing the brake hard, stops the engine, a light press of the brake and it won’t trigger the stop / start function.

    cheers

I'd agree but the gearbox goes in park and selector knob goes down. And that doesn't normally happen with stop/start. The only thing that should trigger the situation is the "driver exit" feature, however GAM says he doesn't unclip the seat belt.

GAM - re the 30cm, I understand. I meant that if the car had to be in the exact same parking spot for this to happen. And if you're 30cm out parking it in the same spot and it doesn't happen, I don't think it is GPS related as it isn't that accurate in a car.

Anyway, could be a software bug with "driver exit". But one that is an advantage to have?

Jack, As Ron said, we are not talking Auto Start/stop here. I am fully across how that works and the light pedal movement to not activate it etc.

This is engine off, park selected, gear knob receded, while foot on brake, seatbelt still on, navigation not in use, home profile doesn’t know my exact address and no buttons pressed. It only ever happens in my driveway.

Not sure if my gear knob recedes, but otherwise all of the above too, I will check next time it does it, I open the door virtually straight away when I come up the driveway,so don’t really take much notice. I will slow it all down and take the time to look next time.

I tried to have a look if there's anything in the CCF but the IIDTool reads the file only, you can't look at it.
Do you see any messages on the dash when this happens? Like the occupant display and the driver in red?

    What’s the dealer said?
Yeah yeah I know the salesman won’t probably know, but I’d be asking the service manager to ask one of the senior techs, if you don’t get a definite answer, ask for it to be taken up by an senior area tech from head office. Seems like everyone here is guessing too! Lol
