    Walhalla

I did a few tracks around Walhalla on the weekend ..... scary stuff. I had a message that said traction reduced or similar as i was 2/3rds up this big arse hill. No way to go backwards without rolling. So I was kinda ****ting myself. After 3rd attempt at Hail Mary.... I hit low traction launch and it got my moving again.. I had the car pretty much in low range all day so car was definitely getting a work out and so was I.

There are certainly some interesting tracks up there. I remember going up Deep Creek 3 or 4 double locked with tyres slipping on a dry day. My friend got stuck 2/3 up the hill (with a Patrol) and we had to winch 25m .

Yes its really scary stuff. When i turned one corner and saw this hill. I thought WTF how the jesus am i suppose to get up there. My biggest fear is getting stuck half way up with no Winch.

I got stuck on the Very Very Steep Section of Trig Track. Just for fun do a youtube on Trig Track Walhalla. Its an interesting track that zig zags up then you hit this mother of a steep section.

I googled it. That looks like an interesting track Lee, the hairpin bends are interesting too with the D5 having a much larger turning circle than the D4. But if a Subaru Forester can do this it shouldn't give you too much trouble

    Hi Ron,

Apparantly the zig zag part of the track was designed to be reversed up. This is why there is a bit more of a run off on each section. They say if you forward, reverse, forward, reverse on the last section you are driving forward again. I or the guys i went with never tried that part. I only found out later on about this section of the track.

It was deemed too steep so they graded it into a zig zag pattern.

High Country never disappoints. Such a pretty and interesting place.
