How heavy is the van?
What's the nose weight?
Is the weight evenly distributed in the van?
Is the tow hitch level?
My vehicle is the Land Rover Discovery TD 6 2018 model. Has anyone with a similar vehicle had any experience in towing a large caravan (18 to 22 ft) particularly in relation to sway at speed, or not. I find my rig drifts from side to side, above 92 km/h. Very dangerous. Stability control is not activated, so must rely on quick action to recognize the sway and slow down. Also, what mode is recommended for towing, and is there a particular set up necessary?

This was a big talking point on DISCO5.CO.UK - Index when the car first came out. Not sure what the result was. might have been something about the anti-sway smarts in the van competing with the smarts in the car, but dont remember exactly... but have a read on there, some useful stuff.

I wonder if the car recognises there is a caravan attached? Do you see the green trailer symbol appearing on the dash when you use the indicators?
If it does, then the car will alter shift patterns among other things so there is no specific setup required to drive with a van.
