    Bluetooth problem

Hi, I have a Discovery 5 produced in December 2019 in Slovakia. I have a problem with the phone connection with the unit of the car that is annoying.
Is not happening all the time but when is is make me crazy. Sometime in the morning when I start the car is not paring the car with the phone (iphone 11) and is not parring even if I close the phone and reopen or if I put the car to pair or I erase the phone from the car unit and start pair it again. It is ok if I stop the car's engine open the door to close the unit of the car and stay so for at least 5 minutes. After I start the engine is ok.

Other times is doing when I start the car from the office after I parked for 6-8 hours.

Also I have the issue of the MP3 USB stick that sometime is start from the first song sometime not. I could not link these problems.

I was to the dealer service for 5 times but after I they keep the car from 3- 10 days they said the last time to not keep the car in the garage anymore maybe is something from there Nice no???

Is there someone that experiencing the same problems? Did you get a solution?

    Thank you in advance

I have not owned or working on a D5 like yours, but I experienced that thing with my work for some customers. Bluetooth Wireless Apple Carplay or BLUETOOTH alone and IPhone seem having something funny with setting and firmware. Check to see what iOS firmware you have, and try to do Network Settings Reset. Unfortunately, this issue belongs to iOS and a right firmware with right settings will likely fix it. For MP3 USB stick issue, it might be a bad connection pin/pins at the end of connectors attached to the headunit which will need you remove all, reinsert them and test.

I also have the problem of a USB stick sometimes continuing from where it left off and sometimes going back to the start of track one. IT was SUPPOSED to be fixed with the upgrade to version 20 of the software, but from my experience, that is not the case. In fact, it is worse, because now it is unpredictable! Every other car I have owned has the sense to resume playing the last track...

As to your Bluetooth problem, I am afraid I do not speak Apple. My Android phone just connects every time.

    Cheers

Unfortunately the 20 is not available yet at us, I have 19C and when I check for update is "up to date".

As for the Bluetooth I do not know if it is form Iphone, my old D4 it was ok on every ios I had. But the D5 is terrible having so many electronic parts and a lot of software that I think that are not compatible between them. I have problems with the camera software that not all the time are connected with the way I drive, if I make maneuvers the back one is ok but if I go in the front not all the time the front one is on.
I had problems with the ground cable and I remain with the car on the road, without any electricity, I had to borrow an triangle from someone to not make an accident.

All these in 2500km that I have till now.

I've had that issue with iPhone not wanting to connect via bluetooth a couple of times, but not recently. No idea what actually fixed it as there have been a few software updates on the car as well as on the iPhone since.
Instead of re-pairing, try turning off BT on the phone, then turning it on again.

I did it but without any success. I turn off the phone and then on, turn off the Bluetooth from the phone and then on, the one from the car unit and then on, I make to forget the pairing and then pair it again and didn't want to pair. Till I did not stop the engine open the door to close the unit of the car and wait 5-6 minutes to reset probably the unit didn't worked. Now here is summer and when the car stay in the sunlight and inside is quite hot I saw that is not connecting too.
Do you think that is maybe a poor connection in a cable somewhere and from the heat to make a proper connection?

Sounds like you need a trip to the dealers, you could be right either a loose connection or maybe even a faulty module.

To make it clear so I can identify your problem. 1. Can you see the BT name of head unit from the iPhone? 2. Can you see your iPhone name in the BT Search function (if available) in your head unit? 3. Does your head unit turns on normal with car key or much slower than it was?
