    Two years old so not much warranty left,will need the extended warranty, or I wouldn't go near one.

    Why? 2 warranty claims on my vehicle is all it had and one was a creak in the dash, the other a broken seat foam.

    If they’ve been stable for the warranty period they generally won’t have a problem.

    Agree with Tombie and Lukeis

    Love buying cars with some of last year of warranty left when I do infrequently buy one because;

    A) 30% depreciation
    even if it was back into the dealer 110 times from new there comes a point where every conceivable part has been replaced and the problem resolved along with factory updates to software etc. (D3 got a CANBUS update in 3rd year) This occurs at exactly the same moment the first owner’s will to live is broken and they sell in despair and hatred.

    I then have the balance of warranty to see out any concerns.

    This is playing out now with the D5 and new Defer.

    I had one minor warranty claim on mine where the steering uni was replaced (I think) and got a new leather steering wheel for the fretting rubberised one. That was 10 years ago now and never had a moment’s trouble since ( touch wood).

    Mine had more issues out of warranty than while in warranty, started at the 4 yr mark and it was low K's.

    Every vehicle is different, its pot luck most of the time.

    As you would know, it doesn't take much of an issue with a vehicle like the OP's,to cost thousands to repair.

    Thats one of the reasons these vehicles have such huge depreciation.

    Anyway,its whatever people want to do.

    Yep Paul, you nailed it on the depreciation.
    A new RR Vogue is 250k, three years later it’s 90k. This is because no one is going to take a 190k punt on a car with no more warranty, least of all one from LR.

    im looking for a 2019 D5 now as it’s not too much more than the 2017/18’s but for that price it’s nice to know it will have a bit of warranty to go, peace of mind since I’ll actually be putting it through it’s paces towing and off-roading which the last driver may not have done yet
