    Should I be worried?

So .. I bought a series 5 and they are telling me that during their dealer checks they have spotted a small oil leak. No real details as yet. They are removing the skid plates to take a better look and will take it over to JLR if need be ..

    Should I be worried?

It’s a Land Rover at a dealership. You should always be worried. Should I be worried?

Got our Defender back from British Offroad today after a major service, with a verbal note about 2 very minor oil leaks, but was advised not to worry because, 'They all do that' and they had listed it to check at the next service. So no, I wouldn't worry at all. Just get it listed and checked at each service.

I would be worried, because the newer ones don't seem to leak like the older models.

There have been a couple on here with leaks, but they were on the rear axle and other parts of the drive train.

My D4 was the first of many LR's, that hasn't had an oil leak.

Apparently there was a recent "campaign item" that involved removing the sump and it was not refitted correctly. The leak was from one of the sump bolts. Now resealed and checked.
