    Entry Level Price

In the RSS News Feed today it quoted the latest entry level price for a new Discovery.

How about $99,000 before you ask any questions?

the 4cyl and V6 engines have been dropped.

first model option pack ups the ante to about $125,000 , with Land Rover claiming there to be $30,000 worth of extras. There are higher level option packs available. Then add on road costs.

Now I dont know how some of you feel, but last year I bought a reconditioned house for my daughter for $300,000. If she bought one (just for the sake of comparison) Discovery with small option packages, it cost more than half the value of her house.

I think the Defender is going in the same direction

Something weird is going on with the LR website.
Earlier this week you could build a New Disco and it would give you a price. I’d also asked the local dealer to price and send me the quote..

interestingly on a D300 S model the dealers quote was ~$2k more expensive than online. Beyond the dealer delivery that was $900 different the individual options varied between the quotes.

I’m off to the dealer shortly to discuss

The online pricing has now disappeared...... I hope it’s not all going up a I’m at my limit to get a S model with a few toys

Just for giggles, I tried optioning a Defender the other day and yes, the pricing was non-functional.

Went to the dealer and asked about the difference in pricing...

They said there are been numerous similar complaints and that’s why it was removed for now from the web site.
The dealers pricing system is correct unfortunately

we just purchased a 2021 model coming in May
the new base price is $99,900. The LCT + GST + SD all increase so the price climbs quite a lot.

I'm amazed you have to wait until may , I didn't think enough were being sold to require an order 7 months in the future.

Maybe orders are been so low that they no longer bring them in until an order is placed. Must have been a surprise for LR to actually get an order.

I got told if I order before Xmas delivery would be between March and June. If I order in Jan it all pushes out a month.
All cars are built to order.

If the plant in Slovakia is any thing like Solihull the stamping plant did a run of each car for a period of time before swappping the dies. I’m not sure what else they make there ? Beyond the boat trip (not sure how long that is) your order gets a slot in a production run. I don’t know if there are priority dealers or customers can jump the queue....

I’m not fussed will give me time to ponder all the changes I’m going to do when it arrives... bull bar / nudge bar, wheels, tyres, roof rack, sliders, air compressor, dual battery, rear unit ....etc etc.

We ordered 21inch black wheels, electric opening sunroof, desiel hybrid, metallic black, etc. so they build to order + 1 months shipping. They are still catching up with Covid orders as they closed plant for approx 4 months.

If you want to put on a decent set of all terrains you may want to consider 20" rims

I have a set of 275 55 20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on mine which i am very happy with.
    Cheers
