    Exhaust Filter Full

Well getting near the 40,000km mark and only really do long trips in car with this year 2 trips to Brisbane and Canberra, on Monday headed up to Brisbane no problems but on return trip Tuesday night 20 minutes out of Coffs Harbour had the red light symbol for Exhaust Filter Full and orange engine light coming on.

WTF was first thought then more swearing as engine derated boy does it but found putting it in sport mode and keeping it in 6th gear could at least do speed limit and take a run up on steeper hills also when foot flat will not change down so quickly lift foot change down then floor it to keep speed up if I was towing would have been screwed.

Ring dealer next day with what happened and saying do not use for short town runs always on highway etc, they told me how to do a Forced burn, which involves going over 80km/hr and staying out of overdrive gears and keeping rev range around 2500rpm (for 20 minutes) and higher as soon as you hit 3000 rpm it will change up, used sport mode and kept it in 5th gear.

This did not clear fault and I did have my doubts also the DPF filter is not covered in the warranty mind you if a crook sensor caused this it should be! taking it to dealers to check out and see if any faults caused the blockage. I would think that they would want to replace it and charge a fortune for the pleasure but if it goes down that road will take it back and get it cleaned.

Maybe should use sport mode and hold lower gears occasionally to do a Forced burn? anyone else have this light come on?

    Update

Turned out it was a faulty MAF sensor, these are worth around the $1000 dollars mark, not sure on the make of it yet, this changed the fuel air mixture did not notice any change in power etc or fuel usage was around 8.2Ltr/100km sitting on 120 most of the way and 7.6ltr/100 on way down slightly slower due to traffic.

    Hope it is under warranty!
The components in a MAF sensor are worth all of say $10.
There is a second hand one for a 2020 D5 V6 for euros 162 on UK ebay
