			Towing trailer with Led lights

					Gday All,
Can someone please tell me if the D5 needs a pulse buster type device when towing a trailer with led lights as the D3/4 seem to need.
 Thanks and cheers Bulletman

Depending upon the actual LED lights used on the trailer, you may need more resistance on the indicator wires. Ford make a dongle for the Ranger ute that works, plugged in between car and trailer. A bit cumbersome, but it works. If you only tow one trailer you can simply fit ballast resistors on the trailer - Narva sell them for around $20.

I installed a pair of resistors in the car with a switch on the centre console to turn them on and off as I tow a few different trailers. Here is a link:

FWIW, I've had my D5 for over a year now, and have towed quite a few hire trailers, as well as my hybrid caravan, all with LED lights.

Never had an issue with the trailer lights not working - the 'trailer set up' screen comes up on the central display as soon as I plug the trailer to the car, and the trailer symbol flashes when the indicator is on.

Not sure if LR have woken up and fixed the issue, or if it works for me because I have a Redarc Tow Pro Elite fitted...
