After 15 years of Discos its time for a new vehicle so the D5 is going.
I tried to find a D300 D5 to replace it but the best lead time I could get was >12m with no indication of what the ">" actually meant. That and LRs practice of advertising cars for sale in stock or in stock in 2 months when in fact they are just parts in bins in Slovakia or wherever broke me in the end.
A choice of three Touareg 210 Elegance that were already on the ship and available next month made the deal.
I might be back to LR in a couple of years when/if things return to normal for D6 Hybrid, who knows.
Cheers,
Mark

I have come to the conclusion that the Australian market is of little interest to LR.
The D3 will be my last land rover unless something to good to be true comes along in a D4 , but in saying that I enjoy my sleep these days and the thought of the 3ltr engine would give me sleepless nights.
I may be swayed to the 4.4 deisel RR but personally not a fan of the shape after the L322.
I wish you good motoring in the new brand .

My old man had the V10 toe-rag and it was awesome. Went like **** off a shovel. The only reason he sold it was he was gearing up for a big lap with a big van and I convinced him a 200 series would be easier to service in the middle of nowhere. I still reckon I made the right choice, but it was a far superior car to drive compared to the 200.
One of his mates is on his third and absolutely loves it. No problems lugging a 2.8T van around the state.
Really nice vehicles.
Does the Touareg come with a proper spare tyre?

No it has a space saver that is deflated under the floor.IE inside the carDoes the Touareg come with a proper spare tyre?
There is a you tube on how to change a wheel.
Briefly , you have to unload your gear, get the spare out , inflate it with a supplied compressor, remove some trim bits , jack up the car, undo the wheel and reverse.
The space saver is sort of collapsed into itself so may be a struggle .
I do not know what you do with the flat tyre!
Ok for bitumen maybe and I wonder how many of the tyres will be available in Australia at any time.

One of my friends has a2019 and loves it.
I looked hard at it when I bought the D5, but as soon as I saw no spare I ditched it. I just can't buy a car with no spare tyre.

The space saver is fine on the road in suburbia. If or when I go further afield there are options for spare wheel carriers using the tow hitch.
Not sure what if any adventures Ill have with the Treg, time will tell.

Dads mate keeps one tucked in the back of the Van. Its a tug, so he rarely strays off the black top and he's rarely more than a hundred kays from the Van when he's away.
