    L462 D5 Engine Light on!

My 2019 6cyl D5 with 32K has just shown me an amber engine light. The manual says it is an emission problem.
    Any advice out there?
    Cheers, Farnarkler

Could be anything…unfortunately the light just says…”something wrong”.
You will need a diagnostic tool (Gap IID tool) or something similar. If you don’t have one..you’ll need a mechanic / someone with one.

Once you know what code…you can go from there.

Thanks for the reply. I have booked my car in for service but, because I am a tech guy, I have also ordered a Gap IID Tool. Appreciate the tip.

Hopefully mechanic will have the right equipment. A diagnostic tool is invaluable for these vehicles…diagnose issues, clear fault codes. It should be the first piece of equipment an “active” owner purchases.
    Good luck.

My engine problem turned out to be a faulty oxygen sensor. Replaced at the dealer. Three months out of warranty but LR gave me 80% credit on the part.
I did buy a Gap IID BT Tool but had so many problems getting it "registered" that it did my head in. Turns out that software for my L462 Discovery is not yet available and that, coupled with an overly complex registration procedure and the fact that I am as thick as two planks didn't help. Anyway, I have the tool now for next time that there is a problem, and sadly, there is always a next time.
