Yes plus it seems only in Aust and NZ ... that it is stipulated ...
Anyway good luck with which ever way you go

Strop, if you have a look on the Australian Discovery 5 Owners Facebook Group you will see many owners are towing blocks of flats around the place.
There are also a few owners who have had LC200 and LC300 - and one who has had both - as well as a D5. They seem to think the D5 is the better tow vehicle. And the fuel use difference is amazing.
Why do you want an adjustable tow hitch? Just get one with the correct offset and use that. The adjustables destroy your exit angle and hang down worse than the "Plough" on a D3.
When I have a few spare hours I will take those incredibly complex measurements for you. Me, I just use a weighbridge. [bigwhistle]

Measurements - I won't say they are super accurate as I had to do them by myself, but should be near enough for government work...
A -2500
B -2300
c -1800
D -1300
E -1000
F -500
G 0
H 1300
I 1600
J 2400
K -1000
L 2650
Notes:
1. On a D5 you would be more likely to put a second battery in the rear - the starter battery is there. There is NO room in an SD6 under the bonnet, but you could in a TD6 on the driver's side as they only have one airbox - the SD6 has two, one on each side. D300, I don't know.
2. Measurement A is not relevent. If you fit a bike rack, etc., it is going to attach to the tow bar where the tow ball is, not at the back of the car. Also, a bike rack or wheel carrier is going to apply interesting torque on the tow ball, so I have no idea how that would effect the weights, but it would do interesting things to the rear and front axle loads I would think.
3. Measurement L is going to change depending upon the tow hitch you fit. I always go with the shortest one I can find to reduce the weight on the rear axle.
Hope this helps.

Know what you mean. I need extra height to level the van - van has lots of ground clearance. Isn’t that what an angle grinder is for - to cut off the excess.
[QUOTE=Strop;3206442]Im in the same situation re the vans ground clearance plus the D5 sits prolly 75mm lower than the D4.
the standard D5 tow bar makes the towball close to 100mm lower than if you use a mitch hitch type set up on your D4 which i used on my D3

Thank you for the measurements. I have had a quick play with it and again it surprising how quickly the weight goes. I have to do a bit of graphics work to tidy it up but my results, so far, are much better than for a D4. Forgive the D4 image in the photo but that is my calculations for a D5. Very close to Max rear axle weight. And still some more stuff to add.
