There are brackets behind the grille that you can use as mounting points for extension brackets. My bar rests lightly on the bumper as well.

Which LED bar did you get Gordon?

I ended up with a Rigid Industries SR2 30" bar.

Une marque que j' ai toujours appr?ci?e pour son utilit
I still like Super Cibie Oscars but with HID. Awesome lights.

About to remove mine on the Defender, those and the winch block a lot of a air to the radiator i think. I certainly dont like the high 90 temps cruising in Qld. So going for a snug 17" LED Bar with dual 5w rows and upgrade Phillips bulbs. And of course the traxide loom. Should suffice for Defender speeds. :p
The Oscar's will go on the Company troopie in PNG, those 3 am airport runs on unmarked roads through winding jungle are a real pain, especially the locals who like to sleep a big night off in the middle of the road. Someone gets squashed every second month.
Hell that's high. The 4.6 is 82_84 cruising in Qld with the cibies in front of the grill. Cheers
resuming this old thread... might consider installing some extra lighting .... anyone actually done this for L494 with bi-xenon headlights? If so, is there an easy (pre-made) connection for wiring the driving lights in the engine bay, or do I have to trace the headlight wire and tap and install old fashioned relay etc ? (I haven't installed any driving lights for a decade or 2 so I may be out of touch with current technology)
thanks.
