    SDV6 or SDV8

It's time for a new one. My TDV8 Vogue is to be retired when it gets it's new turbos fitted. So the question is to SDV8 or to SDV6? Heart says 8, Head and a lot of other people and the wallet say the SDV6 is the way to go. The 6 has basically the same numbers as my 3.6 TDV8 so it should handle the camper in hard going but love a V8.
Lots of distance highway towing, beach and desert towing to be handled.
    Thanks Chris.

    SDV6

Chris, SDV6 with a tune and exhaust from Roo Systems (should get you close to 250kw /700nm) for $4k and then fit your Compotive 18's (which won't fit the V8). Problem solved.
    cheers

I understood that the current Compomotive design doesn't fit L494/L405 standard brakes.

    Hi Guys,
Anyone had the Roo systems upgrade on the TDV6 ? probably not compatible with LR warranty ?
GOE are supposed to be working on mod for compomotive rims, however seems to be taking longer than planned.
I'm hanging out for these having bought the TDV6 Vogue for this reason. Very happy with the performance, tows my 1.8 ton (loaded) off road van with ease.
    Cheers, Peter

I just had a quick look at the power to weight ratio of the D5 SD4 and TD6. Both numbers are higher than the 3.6.

It will be interesting to hear how that translates to driving a D5.

You are behind the times!! The SDV6 in the RRS is already 700Nm. Its not the same as the SDV6 in a D4. It is actually not much different to the V8.
