    Lost keys IN CAR

    Hi everyone,
a few days ago when I was getting in my car with a heap of bags, I threw the bags and my keys onto the passenger seat. I heard the keys fall down and now I can't find them at all!

I suspect they have somehow fallen under the seat and through the slit in the carpet. There is no hand access under the seat, does anyone have any tips on how to look further and potentially retrieve them?

Depending on how close the lost key is to the driving position the car will start if someone enters the car and presses the start button!
A car was stolen near my place when the driver left his spare key in the car and a chap tried the door which was open and drove the vehicle off. The theft was recorded on my security cameras and the clip provided to the police.
    Regards

Have you checked the door pocket?

It's amazing where small people (like grandkids) can reach when induced by sweets or money (depending on the age and cynicism of said grandkids)

As a last resort unbolt the seat and remove it to reveal it's secrets.

    Thanks everyone,

My kids can't reach them, I think I'll have to book it in with Land Rover to get the seats taken out (or is this easy to do?)

Luckily car is still drivable, and the spare set will lock the car

    thank you!

The seats can be removed but I would recommend someone competent to do it - when I had my seats 'upgraded' with extra padding the auto-upholsterer removed the seats from the car - took him about 15 mins to do , after waiting for a while for the electrics to quiesce , but he knew what he was doing. Most of the effort was figuring out how to undo the seat-belt from the seat. They are heavy and require 2 people to lift out once undone.
Might be easier to remove the centre console if the keys are somewhere there....?
