Sounds like they are are great engine and way more economical than other turbo diesel V8's.
The Ford Ranger doesn't achieve those sort of figures.

.... thank goodness for that.... there is no way I would probably have bought it as a V6... There is a HUGE attraction to the feel of that glorious V8. From idle to 4,500 rpm it is a sweet thing.

I assumed the 4.4 was built at Ford’s Dagenham engine plant in Essex. However after reading a few articles it looks like the block is made in Brazil and assembled in Mexico. And is only fitted to Land Rovers. Quite surprising.
