    Great feedback everyone, thanks.

Sounds like they are are great engine and way more economical than other turbo diesel V8's.

The Ford Ranger doesn't achieve those sort of figures.

    Cheers, Craig

Enough of an increase to be felt in the ride and handling characteristics.

.... thank goodness for that.... there is no way I would probably have bought it as a V6... There is a HUGE attraction to the feel of that glorious V8. From idle to 4,500 rpm it is a sweet thing.

I think I jus described the beginning of a midlife crisis??😄

I assumed the 4.4 was built at Ford’s Dagenham engine plant in Essex. However after reading a few articles it looks like the block is made in Brazil and assembled in Mexico. And is only fitted to Land Rovers. Quite surprising.

That really needed to happen in lieu of just dropping the petrol v8 from the D4 in 2013. Would have been nice to see it in the D5 and certainly as an option on the SVX D5 along side the petrol V8 (when ever one of those gets made).
    Cheers,
