    Drag racing a 5.0L L494...

Mate of mine here in Sydney has a 2014 Autobiography 5.0L Supercharged, we've been slowly picking away at making it faster, because, why not?

Got rid of the two centre mufflers, put an x-pipe in there.

Replaced the cats with 400 cell Magnaflows (the factory cats in this pic).

So it sounds the part now

The guy who does the engine tunes for me made a tune for it, and we took it to the track.

Tonight was the best run so far, 12.94 @ 109.12mph, which isn't slow, it's pretty much what my XKR did when it was stock.

Had half a tank of fuel in it, but we left the spare wheel at home, weighed in at 2540kg with driver.

Hoping to eventually get a 12.5 out of it, but we've got a bit of work to do with the intercooler system, the setup is quite different to the supercharged Jags and really not very effective at cooling the charge air...

Anyone else here taken a RRS down the dragstrip?

Yeah it's pretty epic off the line, 2 seconds flat for the 60ft is not sluggish, has surprised more than a few people.

Cambo! Long way from the the JagInfo forum! I recognised your avatar instantly, haha!
My XF has gone to a new home now after 8 years, and I've got a 2014 'and a half' RRS SD HSE.
The last before that damn ad-blue crap.
It's had the SVO+ re-map plus a bit extra. I can't help myself. Now the world's fastest tractor...
    Hope you are well.

Ha! What's scary is that the best ever 60ft I got out of my XKR was a 1.96 so off the line this two and a half tonne tank is just as rapid...

One of my customers ran his 3.6 tdv8 RRS at TAS dragway a whike back, 14.445 / 148kmh isn't too bad for an old oiler either!
