I use a Quadlock case and mount.

I have these on my D4, 90, both motorbikes and the MTB.

What Tombie said. Quad lock case and mounts. I use them everywhere on bikes and in car. They’re absolutely rock solid.

I think they have a wireless charge option now.

Me too, including the same very minor issue with the two hand operation. Otherwise they are bulletproof.
I also use RAM Mounts for my iPad when we are travelling.
    cheers

That's a reasonable thing to do whilst driving as it is hands free and perfectly legal when it is mounted correctly. Or they could look at the Gregories or UBD Street on the passenger seat while driving and flip over the pages whilst stopped at traffic lights :-) Take your pick.

Yes that is true, I would rather use the Google or Waze map as the OEM nav in the car is outdated.

I do understand the frustration of having the phone for other uses and I too get annoyed when I see other drivers play with their phones while driving.

Put the phone on the screen instead...
I have looked into the android option but it is a costly one if compared to a cradle or mount. I have a 2015 model with the 10inch screen. Maybe I can upgrade the screen to have better system? I do know some cars have aftermarket android screens but not too keen in doing that.

I am in WA and did not know about the legalities of phone storage. I've got a magnetic mount so would that be considered a cradle?

I was thinking of mounting it on the right side of the screen and behind the indicator stalk. Kind of out the way of my view.

+1 for the quadlock mount - using their windshield Gen 1 mount which has some issues with the heat but i just stick it back on. no biggie.
also I've installed a 7" Single DIN Joying head unit, i'm slowly working out the NAV side but its basically an android head unit. install is pretty neat, and bluetooth for hands free.
