    Daughter's new car ?

My daughter is looking at a used L494 Sport ! her D4 is almost 10 years old and wants to update to a RRS. personally I'm A DIESEL FAN but would avoid having a car with DPF and adblue !!! So a few questions before we start vehicle shopping. I know she will miss the cargo area of the D4 , but she doesn't like the D5 so it's a Sport
[*]What year did DPF and Adblue become standard ?
[*]What are peoples thoughts on the SCV6 ?

I have 2016 SVD 8 with no add blue also has the larger tank. I believe that 2017 saw the intro of add blue in the V8.

Thanks Bails now at least I have a date for adblue, it seems DPF and Adblue introduction had variable dates across the Range

I believe all L494 diesels have DPF... even though it was not mandatory in Aus until 2016/17?, it was mandatory in Eu before then. If you look up the VIN in Topix it will show for MY14 : EU5 + DPF EMISSION .
As Bails says, Ad-blue came in with MY17,
Gone - RRS SE SDV6 with Dynamic MY15.5 Yulong White, with LLAMS

The sweet spot for me is between the introduction of the digital dash (MY2015?) and the loss of the 105 litre tank (MY 2017) There seems to be a very large difference in the specification of vehicles on Carsales that is not necessarily reflected in the price asked. Things like rear aircon and sunroofs can be had if you look carefully.

When I was looking at the Range Rover Sport I opted for 2016 model based on some of the updates that had corrected issues. I like having the pre Add Blue, I BELIEVE THE V6 DIESELS had add blue a little earlier than the SDV 8. So yes I think you are correct with your assesment of the sweat spot. By the way I wold opt for the sunroof if only for the stronger roof.
