Try moving the seats back and forth. The connectors can have problems when seats are moved.

Thanks mate, I did try a few similar things on the way home with not much luck.
The car is also covered by the ACCC warranty so best I leave it to the experts in case I make it worse.

    Keep the DPF clean!

Mate just keep the driving up ensuring the engine heats up sufficiently to burn the emissions in the DPF. If you don't it could be prone to filling, the car will go into limp mode and you'll be up for some serious cash to get a manual regeneration.

Is there is anything to be mindful of? Any thing to look out for? common issues that stand-out?
It has full service history with LR, 2 keys and all the usual options plus a few extra goodies.

    Cheers

A revised harness is available but the sump has to be removed to fit it and the turbo electronics can be damaged.
LR have released a short wiring harness that fits between the connector on the block and the existing harness that allows seeping oil to escape. It appears that the update is listed on Topix for all vehicles fitted with the SDV8 engine.

This sounds like the work carried out on my vehicle. Interesting that it was a known problem but only rectified if the issue arose meaning many vehicles out there could still be vulnerable , in fact all V8 diesels I would assume.

Its only applicable to the L494/L405 V8 diesels because their oil level sensor is mounted inside the sump, whereas in the L322 the sensors is externally mounted.
