    Brake pads and discs

    Hi all,

Looking into replacing the full set of
    pads and
    discs in the near future.
I read in previous posts to call TR Spares and did so. Prices seemed ok however not sure what brand would be best to go with? He offered a choice of Delphi, Borg and Beck or Protex?
I have the Dynamic which is the bigger set-up however not familiar with this caper?
Could any one shed light from previous experience? or should I also consider genuine?

    Cheers

I can vouch for TR got all the bits disc sensors and rear pads which were genuine. I use Red's for the front and have purchased from e-bay . The current SDV8 is the big red calipers and discs. The disc supplied were non OME and have been great , I have about 90,000 k's on the pads now and still don't need replacement.

I will need to be getting my front discs and pads done before too long.. For the rear brakes, dealer charged about $1300. I would be keen to get the fronts done significantly cheaper if possible. Anybody know of a reputable LR specialist on NSW central coast?
    Thanks in advance

ECB Redstuff have given me the best results. I had to import from UK. OME is ***** and gave me dust build up and vibration. I used TR spares for the other bits.

Did my front brakes today, Delphi rotors from TR spares $380.00 for the pair at my door and DBA Orange pads $133 with a discount code from sparesbox. As an added bonus the pads came with two brake pad wear sensors as well but I didn't use them as I swapped the existing one across.
Job wasn't too bad, everything came apart pretty easily and I used this video as a guide.

About the only difficult bit was the 280NM torque on the caliper bolts, my torque wrench only does 150FT/Lb so I used that and then a bit more with a large breaker bar. I already had the T50 driver from my D3. I pushed back the pistons with the old pads and a couple of G clamps with no issues.
