Fitting driving lights to a RRS

So I'm afraid of the dark....... I decided that the standard headlights are not good enough for my liking and fitted a pair of Cibie LED super oscars that I had sitting in the shed. The bracket is fabricated to fit the three screws on the plastic bumper behind the grille.

Positive feed was taken from the fuse box under the windscreen, there are plenty of spare connectors on the +bus that you can connect a spade terminal to and run the feed wire under the lid. The trigger for high beam was taken from the Drivers side headlamp, pin 10 is the solenoid for the shutter on the HID lights. There is an earth point under the drivers side airbox that was used to earth the mounting bar and I mounted the relay on the back of the bar as well.

I did need to reverse the lower horn on its bracket to make the mounting bar fit neatly

The lights are OK but I'm bloody glad I only paid $180 for the pair at the field days last year, they retail for about $500.00 each and they are adequate but not as good as the 20 year old Ralleye 2000s on SWMBO's jeep. They also do vibrate a tiny bit but it doesn't trouble me so far. Maybe in the future I'll put something else there but these will do for now.

Postscript, the vibrations did end up annoying me so I made a couple of braces that go from the driving light bolts to the number plate screws. Problem solved
