    Engine oil leak ?

Just noticed a thin layer of engine oil on engine bash plate. Not discovered where it is coming from as yet. Wondering where I can find a good Mechanic in Wollongong area , I am not sure how competent the dealer is.

I will jack the car up and have a look tomorrow, hopefully it will be an easy fix.

Can't help you with Wollongong area but if you can make it up to Sydney I can vouch for these guys at Peakhurst:

    Local Land Rover Service -

They are usually very busy at this time of year and do close over Xmas/NY period.
    Cheers,

Well pulled the engine cover off but still too much plumbing to see clearly. Most reply's seem to think gasket on oil cooler.

I will pull sump guard off later to check as well. I am just aiming for ideas before getting some quotes on the work.

Making a Claim with Carsales Warranty

Well called carsales warranty, initially called Red Book. Got an e-mail back about the process. Think I will log this process for others that may intend using. My car goes in for repairs which I will sort , and hope for a refund which I have been told if approved I should get.

    Good afternoon,

To lodge a claim we will need to know the following,

    Full name:

    Address:

    Rego:

    Issue with car:

Date when issue was first noticed(dd/mm/yy):

And exact mileage on the vehicle when you first noticed the issue.

If you can also provide copies of your last 3 service history.

Photo of the rego plate on front of vehicle.

    Photo of the vin number.

We will also need a diagnosis report from your repairer along with parts and labour break down, labour rate per hour. Photo, fault codes or video of the issue that can show clear issue.

As we do not have a repairer network this will allow you to choose repairer of your choice as long as they are licenced and registered in Australia.

Diagnosis fee will need to be paid by you unless the claim is covered which the diagnosis fee will be paid for by us.

In most case repairers may not have an account with us. In which repair will need to be paid by you and seek reimbursement from us.

However if the repair cost is too high we can ask on your behalf for them to come aboard so that we can pay them directly.

    Kind regards

This was a painless process and dealt with promptly. Lodged Yesterday and accepted today. Had to provide invoices and photos etc which I had no issue with.

Repair was done by Southern Classic and also was a pretty good experience . All up with the parts pre ordered it was a day off the road.

Of note dealers can now order the O rings , it seemed that the whole pipe may have been the factory fix.
