or better yet have a link to an on-line owners manual?
Online manual is available for MY16 onwards:

    https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/...t/18677_en_GBR

When you say "lower at speed" I am guessing you are referring to when in offroad height and speed is excessive, yes it does. There is offroad height 1 and 2, here's how they operate:

The Off-Road 1 height is 35 mm above the normal height setting, up to a maximum vehicle speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). The Off-Road 2 height is 65 mm above the normal height setting, up to a maximum vehicle speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). The suspension height can change automatically between these heights.

The Off-Road 2 height can be manually selected when at Off-Road 1 height, at any vehicle speed up to 40 km/h (25 mph). Press the up-arrow button on the electronic air suspension system controls.
If you want to control the offroad height thresholds then your choices are either the IID tool or Graemes LLAMS module.

....the car will also squat at high speed. Faster than any speed limit here in Aus. The D4 does at 160Kph not sure what the speed is for the L494.

I use access height all the time, it's easier for your passengers. You can set the car to lower to access height automatically when any door opens or just manually select it if you only want to use it from time to time. If stop/start (MY16 on) is active and you undo your seat belt, the car will shutdown and lower all at once (if auto access height is enabled).

Also, a nice little trick for when you're hitching up:

The buttons on the smart key can be used to operate the electronic air suspension system, allowing the vehicle to be raised or lowered remotely. Useful when loading or unloading the vehicle, connecting or disconnecting a trailer, and slow speed manoeuvring of a connected trailer.

To change the suspension height using the smart key, the hazard warning lamps must be switched on. Make sure to select Neutral (N) and apply the Electric Parking Brake (EP to maintain control of the vehicle.

I checked mine this morning, it drops once you are at or over 80 for a few seconds. IMHO that's probably good enough for most situations. The only time my D3 annoyed me was on Fraser where you were constantly resetting the height after going over 50 on the beach (and I tore off the back bumper the one time I forgot to lift it).

    Ok ,,
When I said at speed I meant 100kph down the road,, lowering at speed towing a van might be problematic...
I doubt this one will hit the beach... the first two taught me that lesson..

LR re-introduced high speed lowering at 105kph and only by 20mm IIRC but I don't know if it will when it knows that a trailer is attached.

So how's the search going Pete?

Are you zeroing in on anything? What options are you leaning towards now you are in the serious phase of the purchase.

I know, not white. I say any colour but white or black and look what happened to me ... that's what happens when you don't give yourself enough time ... I've almost warmed to it after 5 years.

the red "SPORT" badging on the tailgate would indicate it's a "Dynamic". Check the stereo, being a HSE I'd be surprised if it was the base model 8 speaker version as they say.

It might be hiding a few features if they don't understand what they are selling.

EDIT: It's WHITE! Thought that would be immediate disqualification.

    Its got a few goodies:
    Heated front screen
    Heated rear seats
    Meridian sound
    Sunroof
    Dynamic
    Flash seats
Heated (and maybe cooled) front seats
    Factory tow pack
Looking at the ad the dealer doesn't have any idea about the car.
I got my 20"rims for $1400 with 40% rubber. I kind of miss the way it handled with the 22s though. I'll put some 275/55-20 all terrains on it and maybe Ill still put new tyres on the 22s.....
    Edit, It is white though.......
