I would also have thought 2L isn't a worry coolant concentration wise,unless i was in Tasmania this time of the year,where there is a chance of freezing the coolant.

Grab a torch and small mirror,and have a good look over the engine with the cover off,first thing in the morning when it is cold,for any weeping or signs of s coolant leak.

I doubt there is an issue with the block or head,well there could be but you would have to be very,very unlucky.
More then likely if there is a leak,it is a gasket,hose or fitting.
Some also have some plastic parts of the cooling system that can also be an issue.

Both Radicool SF-0 and Radicool SF are monoethylene glycol based, according to their product sheets. They (castrol) recommend full flush before swapping from one to the other.
You could try calling your friendliest dealer and ask what they would use?

Yes, the oil cooler is water cooled so some air could have been trapped when refilling.

These engines have a couple of push-on coolant connections that use a smallish o-ring as the seal. Time is catching up with the L322 engines requiring new o-rings but yours shouldn't be needing them yet.

Mine has lost a little coolant over the time that I have had it, I've topped up about a litre with the "universal" top up made by Nylon. Yes, Castrol still do make test strips, available from Repco

Yes Graeme, I have talked to Justin about all this and he recommends the replacement of the entire cooler, at the very minimum new viton(?) orings.
I have the aftermarket part numbers, he is very thorough is our Justin... [smilebigeye]

Justin may be referring to the 2 o-rings on the turbo oil feed pipe that fits into the rear of the cooler as the originals don't last well whereas the higher temperature Viton o-rings should and LR don't supply the o-rings as spare parts anyway. Replacing the cooler assembly when its gaskets leak is quicker so cheaper labour costs for the owner and ensures that a warped or split cooler isn't refitted, not that they are prone to warping or splitting.
The o-ring inside the coolant fitting appears to last much longer than those on the oil pipe but again LR don't supply it as a spare part.
