Thread: RRs ‘16 7 seater rear AC sensor issue

Hi all,

I’ve been presented with the following fault;
HVAC-Ventilation
B105A-97 (2F) Cabin temperature sensor fan - Component failure - component or system operation obstructed or blocked

I’ve turned off the rear climate, cleared the fault, rescanned the HVAC module, and the fault cleared.
Re-enabling the rear climate, rescanning the HVAC module, the fault re appears.
I noticed the rear climate fan isn’t working so I manually increased the fan and the vents filled with forced air, but not cold.
So the rear fan is ok but the temp sensor must be faulty.

Does anyone know where the rear Temperature sensor is ? The front one is next to the steering wheel but I’m unsure where the rear one is. Cheers

Funnily enough the front temp sensor, to the left of the steering wheel (RHD vehicle), was at fault.

The sensor had an amount of dust that prevented the small motor turning to draw air from the back. Weird I know but the fault only related to the rear AC unit.

a quick removal and clean and it’s back working again.
