The Evoque should always have been a 2WD car. Its clearly for the metropolis. It would make a great BMW.

Yes the real range rover sells to some pretentious people but so long as it keeps true to its roots it will hold onto its integrity as the gentlemans 4WD - a car that can truly take you any where in style. The RRS is a bit of a hooligan but it can still be considered by someone looking for a capable 4WD.

The Evoque however has done nothing to uphold RR integrity and as a result is aligning the range rover brand with putridly perfumed and conceited blingadroids. Land rover need a new brand for cars like this. I suggest 'CITY ROVER'. The Chinese would likely pronounce it wrong - but they would be so right.

Amen to that Brother! Unfortunately I think most of the LR line up is heading that way. The new Sport looks like a pumped up Evoque, the new FFRR looks terrible and has lost a lot of what made the RR a truly unique vehicle. The Defender as we know it is facing the chopping block - where does that leave things? The Disco, thankfully still holds true to the original idea, and judging by the amount I see on the road - they are still selling very well.

but then again a lot of weight and size with a Humvee one could just ram some small trees with speed and hope for the best!

From what I've been told a lot of the Humvee drivers were very impressed with the LRPV 6x6's of a certain regiment in Afghanistan.

    Angry City Rover

As an Evoque driver who has travelled 30,000km in the last 15 month, including many dirt roads and a few 4wd tracks. I know you cannot have experienced driving the vehicle and sound like a bit of a stuffed shirt who wouldn't know a good vehicle unless it pulled you out of the mud!

I reckon he thinks he's a die hard LR fan but really only likes the tractor side of the company..... But bet he wouldnt knock a puma defender?
doesnt seem to matter to most that its a transit engine and box though

One should love all LRs for what they are....all VERY capable vehicles. Plenty of people knock FL1s for instance....take one offroad however and they are very surprising. I've been taken offroad by the old training centre in the uk in several vehicles and they were all cracking
