    Evoque ride off-road vs RRC?

Quick question. If you drove across a mine site (think gravel roads, but rutted up by dozers, haul-trucks etc) in an Evoque, how would that compare to the same ride in a classic rangie?

Other soft-roaders tend to suck as they don't have the wheel travel. How does the Evoque go?

I think it would be firmer than a standard Rangie.

Me too, but I'm keeping an open mind.
If the Evoque ride is too jiggly, what am i left with? D4 with 19" rubber?

    Wife hates the D4's.

Evoques are driven by women who want to be trendy and by The type of Men who wear tight white T-shirts

Yes and another mate of mine says my wife is far too nice (and not orange enough) to drive an Evoque.

But I've never let stereotypes influence my decisions. Afterall, I drive rangerovers. Horrible leaky unreliable things apparently. Which still get less tool-time in a year than my brothers Q7 does while using less fuel, dripping less oil and tyres are a fraction of the cost.

    I know what your saying..

It was just funny at the time when he said it we were at MLR and the exact demographic were the only ones in the Evoque area.

My wife and I had one for a day whilst my D4 was serviced.

She wants one, and I must say it was an impressive vehicle.

If we ever get one it would be as a replacement for a current small 4wd wagon. Planned replacement is several years out, but there is always the risk that a haul-truck or water cart drives into it and replacement is needed much sooner.

Comparing it with the likes of another Skoda Octavia Scout, Yeti, VW Tiguan etc. I've got a real rangie and always plan to, no point getting a lot of vehicles that are exactly the same.

Which may mean other range rover drivers are big girls. I drive an Evoque sand ride a Trumpy Street Triple. The evoque is surprised me how smooth it drive over ruts and poor 4wd tracks. Does well reverse out of soft muddy tracks which lead to an impassable water crossing.

Don't were tight tea shirts but don't wear your blue bond singlet either.

The evoque is not big enough for large family but great for a couple with kids working or no kids.

I've now done 30000km in 15 months in out SD4 Evoque - dirt roads and a few real 4wd tracks... fuel consumption is also great.

Don't judge a book by its cover just because you can't read.

Relax... Perhaps some Evening Primrose oil will make you less sensitive.

I did also say we liked the one we drove and the wife wants one...

And the speed triple bit was for what benefit?

At the least your garage has cute *little* toys parked in it

(You started it with the book/cover comment!)

And don't judge those who can't read when it's being said (typed) by those who can't spell or write correctly!!!

Are you a public servant? You sure act like you have a stick misplaced!

Loosen up, kick back and enjoy your Latté
