Keyless entry - alarm blasts when door is open

    Hello,
My name is Anita and I'm from Sydney NSW.
This is my second post on the forum, my first post was 2 years ago when I bought my first ever LR and the forum was very helpful thank you.

I've just traded in that LR for a 2016 Evoque.

The keyless entry / passive entry opens however when I open the driver door the alarm goes off!

I have googled and read the manual but I cannot work out how to change the setting to open the door keyless without the alarm blaring!

    TIA for your help

    Anita

That's not logical so I suspect a fault, possibly a faulty door lock. If you bought the vehicle from a dealer then get the dealer to look into it.

Some Idle speculation, if the door is not actually locking (because the door lock is sticky/faulty) when you press the button or touch the door lock the car will "think" it is locked because the door switch is closed and it will turn the alarm on. When you return and open the door keylessly you don't realise that the door is actually unlocked and when you open it the alarm goes off because it detects a "locked"door being opened. A way to work out whether all the door locks are working would be to use the button on the fob to lock the doors and ensure that they all make the same noise when locking and unlocking.
