Is it really a Discovery Sport?

I think to get the 'Discovery' name it should have a stepped roof. My boys, 5,4,3 can pick a Disco every time from every other 4wd on the road and I'm sure the stepped roof is a key part of what distinguishes them.

Maybe LR has made the same decision that Toyota made about 30 years ago.

When Toyota created a car to replace the Corona, they wanted to give it an image that was a bit more exciting than the very staid image of the Corona.

Even though there was already a very different model available with the name "Camry", they called the Corona replacement a "Camry".

It is all about image and perceptions.
