I don't want to alarm anyone but the trade in prices I'm being offered on my DS as alarming.
We have a 2017 TD4 180 HSE Lux with a few options - buy price was ~$83k
It was purchased in May 2017, has 19,300km on it and only blemish is one scraped wheel.
Yesterday I was offered $57k trade in. Surely they haven't dropped that much in 16 months...
To give you a comparison:
2014 Disco 4 SDV6 SE purchase - $85k and traded in 2017 for $65k. So, it lost $5k less in 3yrs and our DS has lost in less than half that time.
Am I going crazy or are we being ripped off?

Any other dealers around? Might be worth a second opinion.

Have a look at Pickles Auctions to see what they are bringing.
With my well optioned D5 purchased at auction the previous owner would have received less than 60% of his purchase cost back after 7 months and 6000km (It wasn’t a reposition either). I can’t fault the vehicle after 4 months.

We advertised our $85k LR Disco Sport HSE 2018 for $54k Two weeks ago - not a single bite.
Try selling it privately, but as the above poster has said, that might be difficult as well.
Unfortunately,LR resale prices always have been, and always will be very low.
As they get more expensive, there is more money to lose.
Some of the resale prices for D5's bought new are ridiculously low.
The last model Defender is one of the few LR brand vehicles that has very good resale prices, at the moment.
I will probably lose around $45K on my D4 over 9 years,which i suppose isn't bad considering,but it has low K's.
An equivalent LC200,same year, same condition and K's,cost around the same price new, will be worth $20K more at least.
