    19” tyre options?

    Hey all,

It’s time to replace the original shoes after 30,000 km.
    Current tyre is a Continental Cross Contact Sport 235 55 19 (105v).
I would prefer something a little more all terrain but, for the life of me, I can only find an “all season “ from good year.

Has anyone else found an alternate?

    Thanks
    Joel

So the only other two I have found is a Michelin Latitude 3

And a Pirelli Scorpion verde all season

    No all terrain options though

Have you considered changing to the slightly larger 255/55R19? They are less than half an inch larger in radius and there are several options in this size these days.

    Thanks Graeme.

I hadn’t yet considered this. I will have a search today.

    The 255 fits OK?

I don't know if the size fits. By comparison though, the L320 RRS were fitted with 29" dia tyres (255/50R19) yet a lot of owners fit at least the 30" 255/55R19. As 255/55 is only slightly larger than your original size, it is unlikely that the small increase is going to rub anywhere.

    Thanks.

There are a lot better options in that size.

A couple below that I would be keen on hearing opinions (apologies, it been a while since I have bought such a tyre. Far easier buying muds for the d2!!).

I'm quite keen to try the Pirelli AT+, to the extent that I have a set in my shed waiting for my current tyres to wear down enough in case they're out of stock when I need new tyres.

I’ve got 19’s on my DS. If your intending to do beach work consider going to a larger series tyre or even maybe going down to 17”/18” rim to get a better tyre option to give more clearance for sand, if clearance isn’t an option then don’t be to concerned.

OK, so i have a good morning on the phone.

Spoke to MLR and they do not recommend changing the tyre size, suspect it could have some ECU issues. Not sure if this is the case however as it is still under warranty i will stick with this recommendation.

They did recommend Chapel Corner tyres who found a General AT3 tyre in the 235

I have not used a General before, but i wonder of the would be better than the Pirelli verde all season?

Keep in mind that no LR dealer will recommend or condone different diameter tyres. However the speedo would read slightly slower and the odometer show slightly less kms travelled for the larger size and fuel consumption might increase due to the slightly wider tread.
