How often have you used the indies on the north side? With indies it’s about building a relationship.....only last week I had a failure to proceed, car arrived at indie before I had a chance to ring them, they had scheduled it in two days after it arrived.

Who is supplying the parts... this can also be a factor

As you mentioned, this could be a learning experience for the workshop and they maybe cautious.

I’m tending to put up with the location difficulty for the sake of the guys knowing and being confident in fitting them a few times before.

I’m attempting to source a set of 17” wheels off a DS. My intention is to aim for 255/75-255/70/17. If I settle for 18” I’ll aim for 255/65-265/60/18 subject to the rear fitting as this is the difficulty not the front. I fitted 265/65/17 to the front and fitted fine with FL2 wheels that are 10mm offset closer the the car than DS wheels.

The tyre radius and lift is so crucial for DS clearance, so it’s key to aim for what can be achieved rather than what everyone else has done.

Luckily the laws in Queensland recently changed. Previously if you did the springs it was illegal to also change to bigger tyres. If I was to do it again I'd go with 255/60R18 instead of the 255/55 I have now. Every bit of clearance helps with the DS.

I can recommend both MR and British Off-road from previous experience.

definetely - the law now states total lift of 75mm is allowed on cars with esc. If I can aim for 25-28mm tyre lift then “30mm” lift from springs, still easily within the law providing a vehicle is “MC” on compliance plate.

You’ll easily achieve 255/65 series 18” tyre proving your wheel offset is et45. This will give you 5-7mm extra.

Was going through some photos today and found some interesting before/after the Eibach spring lift photos, with trailer.

One under-appreciated aspect of the lift is how much it helps with rear-end sag

(parking lot is one year later, with the lift, dirt road photo is without, both are with the Cooper LTZ 255/55/19 tyres)
