    Ad Blue issues

I just purchased a 2020 DS diesel. It was a demo with 10K kms on the clock.

I took it on a drive to Tasmania (via the boat!). I arrived in Hobart and I started to get errors being displayed.

Initially I got this error "Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid Quality Detected". I spoke to the LR dealer as well as I rang the LR Assist helpline. Everyone said.... just keep driving and get it fixed when you get home (1500Kms away).

Ok, I was happy to have two separate pieces of advice saying the same thing.

Next day I started receiving the following message " No engine restarts in 850Kms". The XX Kms counted down. Well I had 1500kms to go so there was a bit of a panic on my part.

Spoke to the local dealer and they were able to fit my DS in next day to have the adBlue tank removed, cleaned, refitted. So my problem was resolved. I was pleased with the LR support.

However, I am stunned that a car won't restart after XXX Kms by design. I guess some EC environmentalist decided that was a fair distance in Europe for you to get home and have the issue fixed. But 850Kms is Oz is rediculicious.

I now waiting for the after market mod which allows you to disable the no restart function!

Ford Everest is the same, it just stops if no Add Blue.

Lets see what the Japs,Koreans and Thailand manufacturers come up with.

No doubt they will learn from the others, and re engineer, as they have done for decades.

That isn't good. Really, in this day and age this is the best they can come up with? I once ran my Euro 5 Scania out of the stuff and it merely de-rated the engine by about 20%.
