What do you think is meant by Solar Attenuating?
As in, what results were you expecting?
I've just traded my TD4 Freelander 2 in for a brand new Disco Sport.
After a long wait it was delivered yesterday - first impressions are great.
I ordered the car with the solar(uv) attenuating windscreen. And now the sun has come out I can't really see any difference between the windscreen or the side windows.
Other forums talk about how Pilkington has changed the design of the solar windscreen and you can't see any difference.
I was wondering if this forum could shed any light on what has been fitted to my car.
The windscreen says
Pilkington
Transp 70% min
43R 001585
then below has two Pilkington icons - one with a thermometer and the other a water drop.
What information Google gives for a 001585 windscreen makes no reference to solar retarding.
So I'm a bit suspicious :-)
Please put my suspicions to rest if you can.

Thermometer icon—This symbol is used to indicate that the athermal glass has a sun-reflective coating added to it. If the symbol also has the letters “UU,” the windshield has an ultraviolet filter as well.
Double-sided arrow—Athermal glass that has an anti-reflective coating will have this symbol included in the bug as well.
Ear-shaped icon—This symbol indicates that the glass has a noise absorption feature added to it.
Raindrops icon—A windshield with a symbol of water drops means it has a water-repellent effect that has been added to it.
Looks different? Were you hoping the effect was from tint-like process Eg expecting a darker front window?
No, doesn’t work that way
