Timing Chain Inspection Plug Oil Loss Discovery Sport SD4

Just experienced sudden engine oil loss on my 2018 Discovery Sport SD4 Ingenium Diesel engine.
Had driven 250 k from Yass. Motorway driving on Hume highway.
Checked engine oil before leaving - OK
Stopped for fuel after 200k, no sign of oil loss.
Noticed oil spots on drive when reached home.
Parked and large pool of oil immediately formed under engine. Oil level checked, down to minimum, no warning indicators.
Land Rover roadside assistance came out and arranged tow to dealer, dealer reported timing chain inspection plug seal replacement required.
Dealer said this has happened to others. Last service by dealer at 34000k 1 year ago.
Has anyone else had this? Is it reasonable to expect this on a $60k+ car?

My 2015 2.2 has an oil leak as well, but not enough to drop on the dipstick. Mechanic can't see where it's coming from, has cleaned underside, take it back next week for another look. Where do I find the timing chain inspection plug.

Get him to check the bottom of the PTU as well, quite common on these for the shaft between transmission and PTU to leak transmission fluid, not engine oil, but difficult to tell the difference one it gets road grime mixed in.
