Surely this would reduce the resale value of the vehicle,just like it did as part of the Toyota class action,therefore there should be some sort of compensation,as well as the vehicle successfully repaired?
Sure,and pigs fly.

It should be noted that Toyota not only sorted the problem once and for all,but also provided a 10yr warranty on the replaced parts,including the DPF.
One wouldn't hold their breath for JLR to do the same.

Having read through this I do see it pertains to diesel engines, but the wifely one is concerned about her petrol 2.0 in her 2019 DS, despite it being quiet, no dtc or codes present and running fine. Am I correct to believe that we are safe with the petrol? It might not be very common outside of the US.

JLR did sell that engine here in the US, but mainly in Jaguars.
