Looks good and has air suspension but no low range. Maybe for the future??

Low range LOL. , not required by the majority, where we live in the Hills and we get hundreds of tourists visiting the area, I see heaps of RR sports, Evos here already, they come up from the Burbs and to the visit the picnic areas and local restaurants, you can bet the only offroading they do is on the gravel car parks of some establishments. The buyers of the Velar would probably be just those sort of people
We are rapidly heading to a situation that no models will be fully offroad capable. I appreciate that is a marketing reality but really given the pricing of these vehicles the addition of proper offroad capability is not a great additional expense.
So at the moment we only have the FFRR, and the D4 as having proper offroad capability as standard. Option on the RRS and new D5.
I would buy a Velar if it were proper offroad capable but it looks as if my old RRS is going to be my drive for a while yet.
By all means make onroad versions of all the vehicles to suit the majority of demand but at least make a full offroad option available like is with the current RRS and new D5.

Lets hope the new Defender solves this problem (lack of LR's with true off road ability) too! I'm getting more impressed with the Ingenium 4 the more I read - but a SDV6 221kw / 700nm Defender would suit me very nicely
