Why did they make it have almost no suspension flex?

LR really know how to manipulate people.

It's a fashion/design statement that can go to the snow.

It's not designed for off road use in the way we think of off road, it's riding on 22" wheels and doesn't even have low range.
When I first saw one in the metal driving in Canberra the wheel size was what really grabbed my attention, it's a highway and byways vehicle, i'd be scared to take it on a gravel road.

Sorry, i looked, but didnt think to look in the Range Rover topic area, i thought there wasnt a category fir the velar yet.

It looks good. I bet its nice inside. It just cuts me up that a company that i admired has become fake. Sure, make the Velar, but dont market it as an offroader, you are misleading, deceiving people.

I met a couple recently driving a disco sport on a mild offroad track in the high country. Mainly just steep dirt. They looked new to it. Its inevitable they simultaneously learnt what it is capable of, a positive, and what it is not capable of, the negative.

I hope for their sake they didnt damage it or come away disappointed. I hope they had realistic expectations. I hope they werent disappointed if they got anxious or had to turn away or back from places they wanted to explore. If they did the other tracks we did, it would have become very secondhand, very, very quickly.

Its a very nice car that, like the DS and even the D3/4/5 is more capable than people initially realise due to the tech behind it.

Yes, it's the least capable of the Land Rover lineup, but it's still more capable than you'd think - you have to be willing to scratch it to test its limits, which is something that can be said for the discoveries too.

If i stole a disco sport and was being chased by the cops i could get it through almost any track. But the owner wouldnt be wanting it back.

Haha I've heard a story about an old Camry getting a fair bit further than you'd think. They got it out too.

But that's not what I meant.

It seems to me that Land Rover are trying to do a VW/AUDI thing in having the Velar/Fpace and now the Evoque /Epace.
What next the GPace /Range Rover?

    Regards Philip A
