Brake Controller Instal Question for 2019 D240 Velar.

Does anyone know please if a 2019 D240SE Velar has a plug behind the dash for connecting a trailer brakecontroller? If that plug exists can it directly be used to connect aRedarc Tow Pro Elite V3? Where might I buy a plug to adapt to that Velar plug? An installer has suggested 'that Velar plug isunreliable, therefore it's necessary to run a wire back to the LandRover installed 12 pin plug'. I find it hard to accept that LandRover could not get that right and I dislike the idea of running a wire to the back of the vehicle and tapping into Land Rover installed wiring if there is a better way of completing the instal. Thanks from Rod.

I expect that the wiring will be identical to the L494/L405 which people have used without change.

I found the brake controller moduleplug in our 2019 D240 SE Velar. I found it difficult to remove theblack under dash trim panel because it was held in place with threexmas tree trim plugs the right hand one of which was difficult toremove. I hope to reinstall that panel with easily removable trimplugs. The brake controller module plug I found located high upbehind the accelerator pedal, not easy to see nor access and it hasrelatively short lead wires so appears it cannot be moved down tomake it easily accessible, but it's there and it has the right numberand colour wires.
I removed the cover under the steeringcolumn, that was not too difficult, two screws and some clips. Itappear mounting the Redarc remote head assembly in front of thesteering wheel position adjustment knob will be fairlystraightforward.
Now I need to figure how best to gethold of a Tekonsha 3035-P adaptor cable. It appears that has to comefrom the US, which may be a delayed delivery due C19. I sent aprivate message to ozequestrain (a contributor to this forum) becausehe/she advised having some spare cables, but unfortunately I've notyet received a response from ozequestrian. Does anyone know if I canbuy the Tekonsha 3035-P adaptor cable in Australia please?

I've just sent an email to a former AULRO member in Melbourne who some time ago imported a quantity of these leads to see if he has any left.

I have one that I bought to try to source both the plug and socket to make or have made special versions of the lead to allow my LLAMS kit to obtain permanent 12V from that socket. If you need one in a hurry then I can lend you this one if my contact doesn't have any and you can't buy one locally. BTW, my LLAMS kits most likely work on the Velar if you want more suspension height control.

Edit: My lead is the version that only has the plug for the existing socket, with bare wires to connect to the Redarc controller.

Thanks Graeme. I was able to track down ozequestrian, he has a full cable he can sell me. Please let me know if that's your source too, or if your sorce has any available. Our Velar has coil springs so perhaps not suitable for your LLAMS kits? Rod

My source is Pete snowie200@hotmail.com and he has stock.

You're correct - LLAMS works with air suspension.
