    I'm sure it will happen. Utes and small cars are the big sales movers, so JLR will want a Defender ute, plus other versions.

    Actually I would not be surprised if there is no ute version. Since they can’t sell it in the US it would be a hard sell.

    Why couldn't they sell it in the USA? Isn't it being designed to comply with US standards?

    The chicken tax. All pickups have a 25% duty so they can’t be sold at a reasonable cost. All pickups sold in the US are built in plants within North America to avoid the duty.
