Inline sixes fell out of favour due to their dimensions more than anything else. Taller and longer than a V6 equivalent and therefore harder to fit into modern engine bays and exterior styling (bonnet length and height). And much trickier to do an E-W front-drive like that. Inline sixes are inherently smoother, cool better and have less parts and simpler intake and exhaust plumbing compared with their V6 brethren. Plus it leaves lots of room for a turbo on one side and intake on the other. Bring back long-stroke inline sixes, I say. Eights should be bent, but sixes should be straight *flamesuit on*
